I gotta bust TG on this one... it's apples and oranges. NO ONE cross-shops a CTS-V and a Ferrari California. I'll hand it to Cadillac, they make a fast car. However, any time you hear them reviewed there is always apologies made for the interior. Until GM can make the interior quality match the performance, you can't compare them with Ferrari. Also, anyone can see the driver of the Ferrari blew the take-off in the "drag race". Also, the CTS-V has the Ferrari outgunned by 100hp. Put all this together, and it's easy to see how this "comparison" was a bit slanted. Just as the British TG slants things to beat up on the USA, so the USA TG slants things in the USA's favor. Journalism at it's finest.
I will agree with that, somebody in the market for a Ferrari is not going to consider a Cadillac as an option. Also, the Ferrari did blow his launch, but the Cadillac still would have won. All that said, can you imagine the utter embarassment by a Ferrari owner being blown away by a Cadillac...station wagon even? How would that make you feel if you owned a Ferrari? Me? I think I'd be trading it on on a faster/cheaper Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, but that's just me.
