Together at last! It had been way too long.
It had been about 12 years since our rides had been out cruising together. For a large chunk of that, it was my fault, while my Camaro was off the road for about 8 years, waiting to be reassembled. Then, the guy who painted my car, Rod Calvin, decided to "fix some spots," on his truck, which turned into a 3+ year project. So more than a decade had passed, and our rides were FINALLY reunited out cruising. I enjoy taking my car out, even when flying solo, but it just doesn't compare to having your friends with their rides also along for the outing.
We started off hitting up Continental Lanes, a bowling alley on the eastside that is in it's final year. It's set to become a fitness center of some sort, and the cruise nights there, some 200 strong on Fridays, will also come to an end after this season.
After Continental Lanes, we headed west, Woodward bound. We initially drove around for a bit, to get a taste of what all was going on. A week prior to the cruise officially kicking off, the avenue was packed with cars in nearly every available parking lot! We cruised north until things started thinning out, then headed back south, hoping to hit some parking lots.
Our first stop was at the Kroger at Woodward/13 mile, followed up by a stop at the Shell just south of there. Both stops had tons of nice cars, and gave of just a little taste of what was to come in another week.
